How often should you track AI visibility?
Generated answers vary run to run, so tracking daily produces a chart that moves constantly without much of it meaning anything. Weekly is the honest default for most brands. Daily earns its place when you are running a campaign with a known start date, or when a category moves fast enough that a week is genuinely stale.
Why does daily tracking mislead?
Because most day-to-day movement is sampling variance rather than change in the world. A visibility score can move several points overnight with nothing having happened.
The organisational risk is worse than the statistical one. A number that moves daily invites daily explanation, and teams start attributing noise to whatever they shipped that week.
When is daily worth it?
When you have a dated intervention to evaluate, such as a launch or a placement going live, and you need enough runs on each side of it to separate the effect from the variance.
A sensible cadence
Enough resolution to see a trend within a quarter, few enough points that variance averages out.
Two weeks either side of an intervention, then back to weekly.
Report the monthly average rather than the latest reading, and show the range alongside it.
Common questions
Yes, materially. Every run is real spend with an answer engine, so a daily cadence across a large prompt set is a real budget line rather than a setting.
