Google AI Mode
Google's conversational search surface, powered by Gemini, which answers in dialogue rather than returning a ranked list.
AI Mode is a distinct surface from AI Overviews, and the distinction matters for measurement because the two retrieve from different source pools. A brand can be well represented in one and absent from the other.
Because it is Gemini-powered, coverage of AI Mode and AI Overviews captures much of what a standalone Gemini engine would tell you. Teams tracking both surfaces separately, plus a standalone Gemini, often pay three times for a heavily overlapping signal.
