Brand mention position
Where your brand appears in the order of brands named within a single AI answer, counting from the first mention.
Answers name brands in an order, and order carries weight. Being named first in a list of five is a materially different outcome from being named fifth, even though a mention count records both identically.
Position is only meaningful when averaged over answers where you appear. Including answers that omit you entirely collapses two different problems, absence and poor placement, into one number that suggests neither fix.
Unlike a search ranking, position here is not stable. The same prompt run twice can reorder the list, so read it with a confidence range rather than as a fixed rank.
